I just found it silly and annoying as I immediately threw my starter in the PC as soon as I caught a Tateru and now THAT is my main/starter. If they wanted to solve the breeding problem then they should have just made a ditto fakemon for this game or not made the male/female encounter rate skewed (assuming they did and the starters are their solution).
